Mercer Island 2008 Farmers Market

Parking is available at the Farmers New World Insurance Company parking lot, Wells Fargo Bank, and Maloof Building (South of Wells Fargo). Senior and Handicap parking available in the Mercer Island Shopping Center along the south end of parking lot and in front of dry cleaners and frame shop.

In addition to fresh, local food, you'll find a host of fun, educational and community-building events, including tours with chefs, live music, activities for kids and local service organization programs. Check out the Farmers Market events.

To help make the most of your market experience, we have put together a FAQ.

  1. Where do I park if the Farmers New World Life Insurance lot is full? Parking is also available at the Wells Fargo and Maloof Building (next to Wells Fargo).
  2. What about handicap accessible parking? Parking is provided in the Rite Aid lot next to the market.
  3. Is it safe to eat the produce I buy on the spot?  Please make sure to ask the Vendor you buy from, if the product has been pre-washed or not.
  4. Can I bring my dog to the market? Only trained service animals are allowed in areas that serve food. There is a M.I. City code (7.04.110B) which states that animals are not allowed to enter where food is stored, prepared, served or sold to the public.  We love dogs too, and there is plenty of room for them outside the Market Area.
  5. Do the vendors take credit cards? Please bring cash or checks to pay for your purchases, as only a couple of the vendors are set up to take credit cards.
  6. How can I get one of those super cool MIFM reusable bags? We are glad you liked the bags and we plan to have another bag give-away on September 28th!. In the meantime, remember to bring your own bags.
  7. I want to wear one of those fashionable, bright orange vests and be a market volunteer. How do I get involved? We can always use more volunteers. Click on our Volunteer tab to see more details on the Volunteer jobs available.  To volunteer contact Edee Phillips.
